Anya has briefed and argued numerous appeals in the California Courts of Appeal and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.Her appellate victories include two published Ninth Circuit opinions, United States v. Kechedzian, 902 F.3d 1023 (9th Cir. 2018) and United States v. Wijegoonaratna, 922 F.3d 983 (9th Cir. 2019).
Anya has been recognized as a Rising Star or Super Lawyer every year from 2017 to the present. In 2023, she was also named to the Southern California Rising Stars Up-and-Coming 100 list.
Background
Before focusing her practice on appeals, Anya handled a diverse array of civil and criminal cases at the trial court level, including cases involving contract and partnership disputes, business torts, unfair competition, copyright, trade secret/employee mobility, professional liability, SEC enforcement, fraud/misrepresentation, civil and criminal RICO, conspiracy, environmental crimes, identity theft, drug trafficking, and money laundering. She also represented targets in SEC and criminal investigations, as well as dozens of witnesses in civil, criminal, and regulatory matters.
In 2018, Anya co-founded a white collar litigation boutique in Los Angeles with noted former federal prosecutor Jennifer L. Williams.
Before that, Anya practiced at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, where she represented international entertainment, investment, and professional services firms in high-profile disputes and investigations.
Early in her career, Anya served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Anya serves on the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) appellate panel for the Central District of California, representing indigent federal criminal defendants in their Ninth Circuit appeals.
She also serves on the steering committee of Sea Change, a grassroots community organization committed to promoting peace, justice, equality, and safety by addressing systemic discrimination and building community in El Segundo, CA.
Anya served for ten years on the board of UCLA Law Women LEAD, a women's initiative that partners with UCLA alumnae and students to create intergenerational networks for professional support and advancement. She served as the founding co-chair of LEAD's Student Engagement Committee and of LEAD's Inclusion & Strategy Committee and as co-secretary of LEAD's Strategy & Operations Committee.
